How is this different from PageSpeed Insights?

PageSpeed gives you one score and the same advice it gives every site. This loads your page, names the specific video files and their sizes, estimates the paint delay each one adds, prices the bandwidth in dollars, and ranks what to replace first. The score tells you something is wrong. This tells you which file and what to do.

Does it work on any site or just my own?

Any public URL. Paste a client site, a competitor, or your own staging page. The audit loads the rendered page and reads the videos the browser actually downloads, so the numbers match what a real visitor pays for.

Does it change my site or upload my code?

No. It reads the page from the outside the way a browser does and measures what it serves. Nothing is edited, deployed, or stored. You get the list and the plan and apply the fix in your own codebase.

Where does the bandwidth cost number come from?

You enter your monthly visits, and we multiply the page weight by common CDN per-gigabyte rates to estimate what the media costs to serve each month. It is an estimate to anchor the conversation with a client, not a bill from your provider, and you can adjust the rate to match yours.

A failing Core Web Vitals report, a generic score that names nothing, and an afternoon of adding up transfer sizes by hand.

The client site looked great in the studio. Then the email arrives: the homepage scores 38 on mobile, the hero takes four seconds to paint, and a friend told them Google is pushing the site down for it. You open PageSpeed Insights. It tells you to reduce the largest contentful paint and defer offscreen content, the same line it gives every site, and it never names the 3.8MB autoplay video sitting behind the headline. So you open the Network panel and start adding up transfer sizes by hand: the hero loop, a second clip in the testimonials, a background video in a footer nobody scrolls to. You already know the video is the problem. What you do not have is the number to put in front of the client, the dollar figure for the bandwidth it burns every month, or a short answer for what to replace it with.
