Paste a URL. We find every autoplay and background video on the rendered page, show the real transfer weight and how much each one adds to your largest paint, estimate the monthly bandwidth bill at your actual traffic, and hand you a ranked plan to swap each clip for a poster, a lazy load, a smaller encode, or a scripted animation.

Every video on the rendered page listed with its transfer weight, the paint delay each one adds, the monthly bandwidth cost at your traffic, and a ranked replace-with plan per clip.

What it does

Find the video that is tanking the score, price what it costs to serve, and get the swap that fixes it.

Click any card to jump to its deep dive below.

Who it's for

Built for these decisions.

If any of these are your question, this is the tool.

Freelance dev who got the failing Core Web Vitals email from a client

Which file is actually tanking the score, and what do I tell them?

โ†’ The audit names the 3.8MB hero video, shows how many seconds it adds to the largest paint, and prints the bandwidth cost per month. You forward a number instead of an apology, and the fix becomes a billable line item.

Small agency keeping a performance retainer alive

How do I show the client this month's work paid for itself?

โ†’ The before-and-after weight and the monthly bandwidth dollars make the case on one screen. The retainer stops being a line the client questions and starts being a number that went down.

Solo founder whose landing hero is a heavy autoplay video

Is this clip worth keeping, or is it costing me sign-ups?

โ†’ You get the paint delay the video adds and a one-line swap, usually a poster frame with click to play, so the page loads fast and the video still plays for anyone who wants it.

Dev who read the thread about replacing a 3.4MB video with 40kb of script

Would that swap actually help on my page, or is mine already fine?

โ†’ The audit measures your clips, not a stranger's, and tells you which ones are worth the rewrite and which are small enough to leave alone. No guessing from a blog post.

The problem

A failing Core Web Vitals report, a generic score that names nothing, and an afternoon of adding up transfer sizes by hand.

The client site looked great in the studio. Then the email arrives: the homepage scores 38 on mobile, the hero takes four seconds to paint, and a friend told them Google is pushing the site down for it. You open PageSpeed Insights. It tells you to reduce the largest contentful paint and defer offscreen content, the same line it gives every site, and it never names the 3.8MB autoplay video sitting behind the headline. So you open the Network panel and start adding up transfer sizes by hand: the hero loop, a second clip in the testimonials, a background video in a footer nobody scrolls to. You already know the video is the problem. What you do not have is the number to put in front of the client, the dollar figure for the bandwidth it burns every month, or a short answer for what to replace it with. You spend an afternoon profiling, guess at a WebM re-encode, write the explanation yourself, and still bill it as a vague performance pass instead of a line item the client understands.

What you'd get

Four pieces, one tool.

Each piece ships in the first build for waitlist members. SaaS upgrades layer on top.

01 ยท feature

Rendered-page media crawler

Paste a URL and we load the page the way a browser does, then list every video element and source, including the autoplay loops, the muted backgrounds, and the clips below the fold that the waterfall buries. Each one shows its transferred bytes and where it sits on the page. PageSpeed gives you a single score for the whole page. This hands you the file names that are costing it.

Weight and paint impact per clip

For each video we show the real transferred size and an estimate of how much it delays the largest contentful paint, the metric Google ranks on. A 3.8MB hero that paints last is flagged ahead of a 200KB footer loop that never blocks anything. You stop treating every video the same and fix the one that moves the number.

03 ยท feature

Bandwidth cost at your traffic

Type your monthly visits and we turn the page weight into the bandwidth it actually serves and the dollar cost at common CDN rates. The 3.8MB video that loads on every visit is no longer an abstract performance note, it is a figure on the invoice. This is the line that gets a client to approve the fix.

04 ยท feature

Replace-with plan, ranked

Every flagged clip gets a specific swap in priority order: a poster frame with click to play, a lazy load for anything below the fold, a WebM or AV1 encode target with the size it should hit, or a scripted CSS or JS animation when the video was decoration. The docs explain each technique in isolation. This tells you which one to apply to which file first.

Why paid

Today's tools don't do this.

A failing Core Web Vitals report on a client homepage is an afternoon of profiling in DevTools, a guess at a re-encode, and a self-written explanation, billed as a vague performance pass the client questions. Left alone, the heavy hero keeps serving on every visit, the CDN bill keeps climbing, and the slow paint keeps costing the client search ranking and sign-ups they blame on the build. The audit costs $4.99 once. The afternoon of manual profiling, repeated per site, costs far more and still does not produce the dollar figure the client needs to approve the work.

โœ—Returns one score and the same generic advice for every site: reduce the largest paint, defer offscreen content. It never isolates the autoplay video that is causing it, never prices the bandwidth, and never tells you what to put in its place.
Their pricing
โœ—Has the real transfer sizes if you know where to look, but you read the waterfall and add the videos up by hand. It recommends nothing, prices nothing, and ranks nothing. It is the raw data, not the answer.
Their pricing
โœ—Explains the metric well and is worth reading once. It is a guide, not your page measured, with no list of your clips, no dollar figure, and no priority on which file to fix first.
Their pricing
โœ—Tells you how to lazy load once you already know which media to lazy load. It assumes the audit is done. Naming which video to defer, and which to re-encode or drop instead, is the part it leaves to you.

What you get
A senior developer bills $100 to $200 for the hour it takes to profile a page by hand, add up the transfer sizes, and write up what to change. Most of that hour is the audit, not the fix. This is $4.99 once for the early waitlist, with the same list of files, the paint impact, the bandwidth cost, and the ranked swap. The hour of senior time still matters for the actual rewrite. The audit is the part that should not cost a full hour every time.

What you get now

Web tool. Paste a URL and get every video on the rendered page listed with its transfer weight, an estimate of the paint delay each one adds, the monthly bandwidth cost at the traffic you enter, and a ranked replace-with plan per clip. Runs in any browser on desktop and phone.

โ†—
What's coming

Saved audits you can re-run after a fix to show the before-and-after, a batch mode for an agency to scan every client site at once, image and font weight added alongside video, and a shareable one-page report a client can read without opening DevTools.

ยท
What's not included

We do not re-encode the videos, edit the site, or deploy anything. The tool measures the page, prices the weight, and ranks the fix. You apply the swap in your own codebase and your own CDN.

Solo builder ยท Choppy Toast

This page is a quick vibe-coded probe to test demand and gather feature requests. The actual product, when it ships, will be a polished, hand-built tool, not this scaffold.

For a sense of what "polished and shipped" looks like, here's another product I built: relly.permissionlabs.com.

FAQ

Honest answers.

Then the page stays live with no expiry. The sooner another developer staring at a failing report joins, the sooner I build it. Send it to the one who just got the Core Web Vitals email. That is the engine.
